Idea Title:  Global Warming and the Kyoto Agreement

Despite the effect on world population and melting of the glaciers, the U.S. will not approve the Kyoto Agreement

~ Idea 6259 ~

In December 2003 humanity learned with dismay that during the summer 21,000 people died in Europe as a result of excessive heat (more than 40 degrees Celsius), that the glaciers of the North and South Poles had lost three meters of their height, that this could mean an increase in the height of the seas and oceans levels, and that the surface of the depleted ozonosphere of our atmosphere had reached the size of China.

And all this was insufficient to induce the USA to agree with and sign the Kyoto Agreement for the reduction of carbon dioxide in the world. The reason given for the refusal: it would harm business, the economy.

Idea Title:  Unpredictability in a War Situation

Never, never, never believe any war will be smooth and easy, or that anyone who embarks on the strange voyage can measure the tides and hurricanes he will encounter. The statesman who yields to war fever must realize that once the signal is given, he is no longer the master of policy but the slave of unforeseeable and uncontrollable events. Sir Winston Churchill

Idea Title:  NEVER TOTALLY SELF-REALIZED OR FULFULLED

From Robert Muller, former Undersecretary of the United Nations: Robert's Golden Sayings No person is ever totally self-realized or fulfilled. We learn and enrich ourselves until we die. We gain new capacities and we lose old ones. The art of living has no end. It is too rich to be exhausted in a single life. A painter will never paint all he wants to paint A writer will never write all he wants to write A composer will never compose all he wants to compose Once a skill is mastered and has become a second nature there is no end to what you can and want to do.

Idea Title:  spam com

New form of spam used here.

The fifth comment on my idea for a story, The Progenitors, is a new form of spam. It is signed “WEREA” but if you click on that name you are taken to another web site which has nothing to do with either the thread or this web site. This is called spam comment or “spam com”. Be warned.

Idea Title:  Quotes

A Native American grandfather was talking to his grandson about how he felt. He said, "I feel as if I have two wolves fighting in my heart. One wolf is the vengeful, angry, violent one. The other wolf is the loving, compassionate one." The grandson asked him, "Which wolf will win the fight in your heart?" The grandfather answered, "The one I feed." - Unknown - http://www.indianchild.com/brotherhood_quotations.htm "No one can terrorize a whole nation, unless we all are his accomplices." - Edward R. Murrow - http://www.strange-loops.com/quotes.html "We either fear that human culture is falling apart, or we can hold the Vision that we are awakening. Either way, our expectation is a prayer that goes out as a force that tends to bring about the end we envision. Each of us must consciously choose between these two futures." - James Redfield - http://www.johnworldpeace.com/peacequotes.html
